Farview... Just have to give you a big thanks for helping me out. With your help, I finally figured it out.
First I uninstalled EVERYTHING and started over. This time the machine was able to load the ASIO Alpha driver that's meant for the program. Following step by step again to configure all, the "hiss noise" was no longer there. Found out also that my problem with the terrible audio when recording was because I was trying to record without adding a seperate audio track for vocal by itself, AS WELL AS that I was not able (because of the different driver) to select the proper "input" (stereo in - right) to configure input for the mic correctly. Then, making sure the backing track track was NOT "armmed" as you say ("Enable" or "disable" Record in Cubase), and make sure that the new audio track (for the vocal to be recorded to) WAS "armmed" (enabled), ALL WORKED AS IT IS SUPPOSE TO.
Man... you don't know how releived I was to finally have this come together.
