Cant get my Tascam US-122L to work...

Hello,
So I use to do some recordings with my Tascam US-122L, CAD mic and Sony Acid. But then I packed everything up and few years later i wanted to start again. But now it doesnt work.
I have Sony Acid 6, I downloaded the Driver for my Tascam for Win7. I Open sony acid, Options>Preferences>Audio Device> And change the audio type to Tascam US-112L. But when I hook up my Tascam and mic, I dont get any sound...
I noticed when I unplug my mic the program picks up a sound. And when I plug it back in, it picks up sound. But when plugged in it doesnt work.

Anybody know what I can do? or maybe point me to a better program?

It might be something simple, like making sure you power up the TASCAM after the computer is powered up. Try simply un- plugging the power of the TASCAM and then plugging it back in again.
 
Yeah I tried that but still doesn't work. I notice when I turn the mic on and off on the tascam it shows the sound being cut off and on. Maybe it's my mic?
 
does it need phantom power and have you got that on? and try turning the MON MIX know all the way to input on the left and see if you can hear the mic like that.....or if you have a different mic or lead to try, that way you can find out if it's a problem with the mic or not
