Hi, I started a recording project after installing my M-audio card following as many instructions as I could write down. I am using Adobe Audition 2.0 as my software and a Behringer 1202FX as my external mixer. All seemed to be going fine, but I don't get the option to record in MONO, but stereo files fine. There must be something I am not telling the Monitor Mixer or Patchbay router to talk with the Input area that everyone keeps telling me about in AA 2.0, but that option doesn't come up for me.

So, if someone has encountered the same snafu, please set me on to the right path, as I believe it is just a simple change, but when you are not familiar with the routing it is a lot like a computer program, where you just keep running through the same paces...sure you know what I am driving at. Well, please get back to me when you can, as I am trying to get a few songs down before this weekend. Thanks for listening, and assisting me, psongman

If you are not working with a computer that's VERY short on memory you can use your external mixer to route the same signal to both sides of a stereo track, effectively making it a mono track.

Unless AA 2.0 has imposed some kind of track limit since the Cool Edit days you should have plenty of elbow room to work with...

I would think when you create a track in AA, you should have the option to create a mono track. When you assign an input to a track, does it only give you stereo pairs as options, or can you choose a single input?
I've never seen AA, so I don't know specifically how to do it.

Click the "In 1" button and choose Left channel,Right channel,or stereo.

Hi, thanks for the pic, it helped tremendously. I think I found the overlooked gray area where the sound card is involved. I don't know how I missed it, but you know what it is like when you are in the throes of recording. Woe, is me, will get back to you if that is not the case. Mucho Thanks, appreciated, psongman
