I have recently installed Sonar 2 and though I can record any internal sounds like session drummer, I cannot record any digital audio through my sound cards line or mic inputs. I can hear my guitar just fine but there is no signal being read in the record meters. My sound card is an Aopen AW850. Help!!!

Bandit, go to your Windows mixer and open the recording mixer. Make sure your line input is checked.

bandit,

once you get the line-in checked in Windows and start recording you are going to discover that your sound card is not up to snuff for quality recording.

Thanks for the suggestion Track Rat. I checked the mixer-still get nothing. Right now I am more concerned with Cross Threads comment on my sound card. It has optical line in/out as well as spdif in. I admit I am new to this computer recording, so any info or advice is graetly appreciated.

What input are you useing? Are you trying to use the S/PDIF?

No I have been trying the line in and mic in. Haven't got the proper cord (coaxial) to try it out. I am also paranoid about having to reconfigure the aud.ini if I use it.
