Not familiar with the original.
The slide guitar in the intro sounded out of tune. It covers the vocal with each stab.
I thought the acoustic guitar sounded pretty good. The vocal sounded OK. The country drawl sounded contrived.
The bass sounded cool. Took too long for it to make an appearance. Banjo sounded good too.

With voices like those, you could cover an "Of Monsters and Men" tune well I think.

Mixwise sounds great to me. I like the arrangement. Songwise it's repetitive and the accents are pretty hokey. That's my harsh criticism.
