Nickelback's latest hit song, "Animals" puts most rappers to shame. I've yet to hear anyone that could sing that song without dying. RAP JUST SUCKS....NOT MUSICAL TALENT WHATSOEVER! :D

Can't believe he said that.

Most people discredit that which they cannot do themselves. If rap were so simple, EVERYONE would do it. It's the highest seeling musical genre of all time. If it's so easy, why isn't he a millionaire rapper?

Ignorance is bliss, and he's happier than a retard with a bubble gum milkshake.

Just ignorance man. let him sing his shitty songs and snarl at rap.
dosnt bother me.

word, they probably never heard to genius work of some underground rappers

CANIBUS!

That's exactly what i'm saying. Alot of Mainstream rappers have messed up what people view as rap. It makes me mad when somebody makes a general statment like "rap sucks", or "rap isn't music". I i've been a musician since age three, been making beats since about 10, been rappin for about 2 years, and i think rap is full of music. Nowdays, that is changing though. Now alot beats are basically, just beats. It's still music tho. Alot of old people don't like rap because they can't keep up with the flow of words. It's not for them. It's for us to understand. We can't help it that they are too slow to keep up:) Rap can be used to educate and bring a message. That's what young people listen to. I strongly believe that there are plenty of rappers/producers in the underground that would kill this mainstream crap. If the world will ever hear of them, i really don't know.

I would rather listen to any rapper ever instead of listening to Nickleback. I mean, I don't even care, MC Hammer, Snow, MC 900 Ft. Jesus. Give it to me, anything's better than Nickleback. Now that's not music! haha

I could go either way on this one...but regardless music is music whether it suits your ears individually or not. Just remember that the same people who cling to the "rap sucks and it's not music" probably got it from their parents talking about "that rock and roll stuff is just noise and loud guitars". IMO you can't be a true musician until you can respect all of its outlets and use them to your advantage in your music.

I've listened to Nickelback and other bands/singers like them and some I like, some I don't. When you lived most of your life in a musically diverse household you tend to look at music a lot differently. My dad listens to bands like AC/DC, Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Queen, Hendrix, Clapton, list goes on. Mom chose the typical top 40 stuff you would hear on the radio and r&b/soul. So I got a lot more in my ears than most people when they went through childhood.

I've listened to a lot of rap and the same thing applies...some I like, some I don't. Doesn't mean I don't diss a whole genre of music, it ony means I might not particularly like to hear a certain song in it.

As far as music in general, you can either go into listening to music with closed ears (it sucks I don't like it...turn it off) or open ears (this isn't what I'd normally listen to, but I can see where it was all put together), it's all up to you.

I grew up in a house that had all types of music and I expose myself to everything I can. Growing up my dad listened to The Beatles, a lot of blues stuff, 70's rock, old country. My mom listened to all that easy listening stuff from the 80's and early 90's as well as bands like Bread, and Bachman Turner Overdrive. She also busted out the Bette Midler and Barbara Striesand every now and then. I also listened to old WWII music with my grandpa a lot. Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy from Company B and the like. I also took it upon myself to educate myself in the ways of hip hop, metal, and newer country music along with classical and jazz. So, I got a whole lot of stuff in my ears when I was a kid too.

I was only kidding on the Nickleback not being music comment. It's obviously music, and no, I don't like it. I think it's boring and mundane and has no feeling. It's corporate rock for sure. It's Clear Channel, safe to play on mainstream, pop rock with bad vocals that sound like Pearl Jam run thorough a blender and buried 9 feet underground. It's not my bag man.

That's how I feel about most bubble gum pop i.e. Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson...I try to ignore it when I listen to new songs because you never know when something in a track might catch your eye for your own benefit.

Most of that stuff is crap, but every once in a while you hear a tight beat. Mostly what comes to mind is Brittany when she worked with the Neptunes on I'm a Slave for You, and on Boys. Those are some killer tunes. Also Toxic has a sweet groove to it too, but I know what you mean about the bubble gum pop stuff. It's pretty bad most of the time, even if they're working with a good producer.

Come on man...that's the attitude that breeds these kind of topics...

We're alle different and for us to assume the the genre closest to us is the only genre that's not crap is just plain stupid man...

Nothing ever "sucks." I can say I do not like pop music, but it entertains the masses so who am I to say it isn't good? And after being in a performing situation, I can say anybody who puts themselves "out there" so to speak, I can say that everyone is talented in some way- even if it is just having guts to perform in public.

Yeah it's great when that equipment fails at the last minute exposing someone for the fraud they really are lol.

"Girl you know it's...girl you know it's...girl you know it's...girl you know it's...."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
