I don't understand why you'd be having difficulty, I could order that and have it at my door in a week!

Steve's can get it (or someting identical), also Long And Mcquade, Saved By Tech (as Mike pointed out)....

Middle Atlantic makes those and they have distribution all across Canada!

Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I tried Saved by Technology but they don't carry it anymore.

Blue Bear: I didn't realize Steve's would ship. I've emailed them about it, so I'll have to wait and see.

Well, no luck

I still haven't been able to find this in Canada. The local stores in my area don't have it, Long and McQuade and Saved by Tech don't carry it (or anything similar in price). I'm still waiting to hear from Steve's Music.

Blue Bear: Could you enlighten me as to where you would get it from? I am able to get racks that are similar, but they are around $200 and I'm not able to spend that much right now.

I might have to try Ebay.

Thanks,

Call Steve's in Ottawa - (613) 789-1131 - and ask for Fred in the Audio department...

Middle Atlantic, Raxxess, and QuikLok all have racks of that style and he'll be able to give you pricing//shipping info....

Canadian online music stores

The sad truth seems to be that there's jack sh*t up here in Canada for online music stores. Sure, they all have web pages, but I can't find one site where you can actually shop and buy online. And I don't understand why the big U.S. sites refuse to ship up here when most other American online retailers have no problem doing so! Seems like there's a business opportunity waiting for someone...

I completley agree! I think there is a huge opportunity here for some company to come in and setup an online music store. It would make it much easier for those of use who don't live in large cities and don't have a large selection of gear in the local stores.

On another note, has anyone else had problems with Steve's music returning emails. I emailed twice last week and haven't gotten a reply. :( Maybe they're just busy.

The search goes on......

I've never dealt with Steve's via email... did you call Fred?

Mada.. I got one of those racks you can have for free if you want to come and pick it up in Hamilton.... It's used but ok still..

I don't use it anymore.

I just bought one at Long and McQuade this week for around $30 CDN.

I could have sworn I got an email from them saying they didn't carry anything that cheap. Anyway, did you buy it at the store or have it shipped to you?

How many rack spaces was it?

Looks exactly the same as the image in ZZounds, 12 space, with mounting supplies, sticker is from yorkville.

Picked it up in person, they had 4 left when I was there, Calgary South location.

Wouldn't imagine it would be expensive to ship. Box was about 27" x 3.25" x 3.25", not sure on weight, but not heavy.

That's crazy because I'm almost certain that they quoted me close to $200 for a Yorkville rack, although it probably wasn't the same one. But, maybe that was the music store in town here, I can't remember. Anyway, it looks like the rack from Voxvendor is gonna work fine.

Thanks everyone. I finally found one.....for free. ha ha !!

They've got a few dozen models, this is the second lowest, the one below is an 8 space, and then up from that they got roller racks, portable racks, etc.

They may have just mis-heard you and quoted you a higher up model... Who knows.

You got the right price anyways, so nothing to worry about ;)

Can a rack stand like that hold a mixer (Yamaha MG16/4)... I am inclined to think it wouldn't, but if it did, that would clear up so much counter space for me.

It can hold anything that is rackable in 12U or less.

I've got a 12 channel board sitting in it now, but will be replacing that with a 32 channel line level mackie as soon as it arrives.

As far as clearing up desk space, I don't know that it would free up that much, bottom legs are 14.5" deep to help support the weight....
