Right now my setup is 4 microphones into is my Tascam 414mkii, which runs into my computer's sound card (i think its an Audigy 2, something like that), and I use Sony Acid Pro to record the tracks. Me and my drummer record songs with 4 mics at once, 3 on the drums, and 1 on the guitar. I am aware that this is probably not the best way to record, but thats how I do it. When I record songs though, all the sound clumps into one recording on Acid Pro.

What I want is to be able to have the 4 mics show up as different recordings on my pc, for example, a seperate recording file for the bass drum mic, snare drum mic, Overhead mic, and the guitar mic all show up on Sony Acid Pro or any other program. This would then allow me to adjust the eq and stuff after I have recorded it instead of before, this way I can get the volumes correct and such. What can I buy to allow me to do this? It looks like this would do what I want but since I'm just a kid, there is no way in hell I could afford that. Something $500 and below would be best.

Any help would be great
Thanks

A Delta 66 and a Yamaha 12/4 would do wonders for you, but Acid is not a true multi-track recording software.
n-Track is and seeing as how you have Acid, n-Track can use all of Acid's DX effects plugins.

That would be a good combo, and let you record 4 mics to seperate tracks.

As a possible alternative to the Delta 66, consider the Delta1010LT. It only costs around $30 more and will record 8 mics to seperate tracks.

Thanks for the help!

How do you go about setting all of this up?

The only thing I can think of is to send the outs of the mixer into the ins of the delta, but the mixer only has 2 outs if I'm not mistaken, so how would the delta recognize 4 inputs?

That mixer has 4 outputs .... Stereo out and group outs. However, it also offers inserts on the mono input channels that can be used as direct out's to the soundcard's inputs.
The Delta 1010Lt would also be a very good choice.

I gotcha. Should have assumed the 4 outs from the name 12/4. :p

I'll probably go with the Delta1010, so I have more inputs for future use. And maybe get a 16/4 for the more inputs as well.

I'm sorry to hyjack your thread but... can I plug my Keyboard (Wavestation) directory into that mixer and record on my PC?

space. any synth keyboard - providing it has a line output or a headphone out can be plugged into a mixer. you use the line input on the mixer.
and use the mixer to send to sound card line input.
i dont know your particular brand of kbd. but as long as it has a line output
for audio it should work fine. or if its got midim out ports then you can record midi to the pc. assuming the pc is equipped with midi inputs and outputs.
