I've never seen a S/PDIF jack that carried more than 2 channels. Though I have seen pieces of gear with more than one S/PDIF jack. FWIW, I think that's probably a part of the spec, since Sony/Phillips (S/P in S/PDIF) most likely envisioned it being used exclusively with stereo digital decks.
