I have a Korg D8 I want to use drumtracks off my computer (I was told acid loops is good?) & then (if I can) transfer them to the Korg D8, record vocals, bass & guitar with the D8 & then burn cd's of my own music I've recorded on the D8. I was told that I need a sound card, some new software & cables. My question is , can I use the Korg D8 with my computer to do this or would I be better off just doing everything on the computer? If I can do this will it not be as good as if I used a self contained system on my computer? Any limitations if I can do this? Can you recomend products (hardware & software) I will need to do this? What else will I need? I have a Plextor cd burner in my computer & no soundcard or software. Are there any good books/videos out there that I can learn about home recording techniques/ computer recording? I am just learning all this stuff.

Heya, CRISB. You'll need a soundcard, that's for sure, and odds are that you'll do better recording straight to your computer (depends on what equipment you already have and whether you want the option to stay mobile). I've got to konk out now, but I'd be glad to chat with you about it later on if you'd like. I'll TRY to get back to this thread tonight and elaborate, but I'm pretty bad about not doing so, lol. I'm "PottyAudio" on AIM and "kelly_holdridge@hotmail.com" on MSN IM.
