I'm wondering IF IT'S SAFE to use speaker cable to conduct power to a lamp or lightbulb. Or vice versa, use an electricity cable to connect a speaker to a receiver/amplifier.

By electricity cable, I mean a cable that is usually connected to a 2-prong plug into the wall. For example, the cable that is used by an iron, a lamp, TV, VCR, etc.

If it's safe, then is there any disadvantage?

Zip chord (the electrical chord commonly connected to TVs' radio's, etc) which is generally stranded 12 to 18 AWG is fine for connecting speakers to power amps. The heavier, the better. You wouldn't want to use Romex (solid conductor used for wiring houses for power).

Just make sure it's not plugged into a recepticle when you use it!
