Can I Run Mixer out to guitar amp?

This may be another stupid newbie question but.... I'm looking for a way to get into doing small gigs (me on guitar and vocals and another vocalist). I wasn wondering if I could run the guitar and vocals into a small 4 channel mixer and then out to a guitar amp with possibly another speaker attached. The only reason to do this economically is so I can buy the parts for my ideal system little by little instead of a big splurge. We'll just be doing little street corner and coffee shop kinds of shows. Ok guys - let me have it!

sure that will work. Make sure you use an unbalanced output to go into your guitar amp. Oh, and make sure that mixer isnt powered. You will probably blow your amp.

Be real careful. You are sending a line signal to a guitar input.
