Can I play Bass outta my Mesa Dual Rec & 4x12 celestions without wrecking it???

without wrecking my speakers or amp???

I will be playing bass for my frinds band but I only have a cheap bass and a Mesa Dual Rec Guitar head to my Celestion Guitar speakers,

Will this damage my amp or speaker? I cant afford to go out and buy new bass gear,

what should i be concerned about?

Ouch

Wow, dude. That does not sound like a good idea. My old bass player blow two of my 4 12 cabs years ago because he didn't want to buy his own rig. I don't think guitar rigs are designed to handle the low freqs. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey Videodrone,

I wouldn't do it. From what I know speakers made for guitar use can't handle the low bass frequencies very well so eventually the speakers may rip, and you don't want that.

be careful with your actual gear...it sounds like an expensive one, try buying at least something small for bass guitars...

I do it all the time. Same setup too. Dual recto, 4x12 celestion cab. The speakers are at least 15 years old. Never had a problem. Take it for what it's worth I guess.

Forgot, it sounds pretty good too!

Be careful and you`ll do fine....

Man I can`t forget the sound we got when we hooked up a Dual Rectumfryer on a Ampeg 8x10" , running in parallel with the bass player`s own Eden +Ampeg 8x10" rig.
Man , that was the bass sound from hell......

A wet dream for bassists into aggressive sounds!

I'm sure you could do damage but that goes for every amp/speaker combo.
