decipha's review
recieved the CD yesterday, gave it a quick listen and this is what I've come up with, I'm writing this here so others that may have listened can critique my results with an open mind
Track 1-
synth distorts
:10-:12 Hit, too much high end
vox vocals 1:16-1:27 too loud
1:48 too much going on with guitars
Track 2-
sub bass too loud
high hat in super tweeter range [perhaps slight high end cut]
vocals have a high noise floor
fuzz synth too loud
3.5 sec silence at end of track
Track 3-
"click" (sound introduced at :11 echo's R to L) too loud
2:06-2:18 vocals low
5 sec silence end of track
Track 4-
bass 1:22-1:59 too loud
intro claps sound overprocessed [recommend: snare over @ 1/2 vol]
the ending cuts too short
Track 5-
snare :21-:38 too much delay echo reverb
disto guitar too loud 1:10-1:29
1:49-2:07 vocals too low
4 sec silence @ end
Track 6-
synth intro distorts (possibly clips)
kick distorts :14-:55 again @ 1:10-1:37
orchestra first two notes sound off [perhaps fade in]
snare low
[I wouldn't have a pause between 6 & 7 on album]
Track 7-
1:58 vocals loose quality (possibly guitar too loud)
vocals peak @ 2:33
FROM THIS POINT
vocals hard to decipha (sounds overcompressed lacks high end)
Track 8-
synth overpowers vocals towards end
1:16-1:32 backup vocals tad loud
2:05 "hold on" peaks
4 sec silence @ end
1:50-2:05 tad low
pad :04 - :44 too much low end mids [perhaps 160hz peak cut @ -7db]
Track 9-
ever second hit distorts
:03 again 1:05 pops
[more reverb on intro vocals to liven it up]
sounds more like an intro [swap track 9 & 1] just my opinion
Track 10-
closed hi hat :01-1:33, again @ 1:56-2:17, too much high end
tom panned too far right :21-:24 [slightly less pan would improve imaging]
intro vocals too low, again 2:20-2:37, again 3:30-end [boost around 250hz]
**[1:32 'I' would add a bass slide to intro jam]
1:57,1:59,2:04,2:13,2:15 especially 2:18 synth pops on cut
end guitar cuts too fast [I fade out guitar only 3:47-end]
overall, all tracks could use a healthy bit of volume added
I can see track 7 being the most comercially successful,
although I personally like track 9 the most.
