NO....................
You will need the Pro Mr.Microphone.

NOT TRUE! I know the presets on it suck2damax, but if you play with the placement enough then you have yourself a pro recording studio!

I got pro results with a can and a piece of string, so you should be right, bub

put a tube in it and it will sound warm and analog and all that other jazz. yea, just put a big o' tube in there some where.

Rap, of course.
I heard that those mics aren't very good for rap, but do well for reggae. I believe behringer makes a mic that is specifically designed for rap. You might want to start a new thread for it, I don't think there are any regarding mics for rap vocals.

In a pinch a light bulb will work. Just make sure it's over 150 watts because you want it really loud.

Its not all about the equipment. Talent ( both in performance and engineering etc...) have a huge impact on how things will turn out. The first thing you will need to do is set the band up in a well tuned room. Utilizing all of these room reflections to the best advantage possible will be critical in acheiving your goal here. It make take a few days of moving the drums around and tuning and retuning each of the toms to fit the temperature, humidity, size and shape of the room just right. After you finally have the drums dialed up it will be time to work on the other instruments. Luckily these are all easy to deal with since they are no where near as important as drums. You will want to make sure you put them far far away from the drummer though because other musicians tend to not follow instructions well and are always doing stuff they shouldn't. If you put them near the drummer they will probably get picked up on the Mr. Microphone talking about something irrelevant during the roto tom solo, so put the others far far away. Now you are finally ready to start recording. I would reccomend you do a couple of test recordings since you are in effect bouncing all sounds to one track right away. When referencing your test mix you will have to listen carefully and critically so set the boombox at ear level. The most important thing here is to make sure that all the cowbell and triple kick parts cut through nicely. If not, you may have to reposition Mr. Microphone some. Luckily, good mic placement can solve any problem you ever have (even problems with Johnny Law!). I would also reccomend that you use type 1 cassette tapes when undertaking this daunting project. With type 1 tape you really get that highly sought after vintage sound. Please avoid the use of mini cassettes or mini discs though. Those are just flat out shitty and low fi. Your listeners will here the difference and this could completely bar you from receiving your mental grammy. You should be ready now to record your masterpiece! This is all just proof that if you have excellent talent, knowledge, and experience that even with a Mr. Microphone and a boombox you can get the same results the pro's do.... when they record with a Mr. Microphone and a boom box.

Well, it's not quite that simple...You gotta make sure it glows real pretty. No matter what. Even if you gotta backlight it.

Two tubes will give you double the warmth, three would give you triple, etc. But you don't want too much warmth, that's no good either. I nice medium is around 9 tubes. Yea, the number 9.
