Have a G5 Mac running Tiger OS X 10.4.11 and I want to know what the best thing to do is regarding what software, hardware, etc to get a good project studio going. I would like to be able to record full drums and instruments. Any ideas!?

Here's the specs on my Mac:

OS X 10.4.11
Processor: Dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5
Memory: 7 GB DDR2 SDRAM
Hardrive #1: 1.5 TB
Hardrive #2: 256

Welcome, Cory. :)

I'm just here to find out WTF 10.4.11 is. Don't assume everyone here is a Mac user. ;)

"10.4.11" is the version of Tiger that I am running. It's like how you can run "windows XP" The problem is that I can't upgrade it because it's the last year that they made powerPC's, now pretty much everything now is intel. I want to know how i can get the most out of what I've got. I know it can do something because its only 4 years old...and i'm pretty sure that there were good records being made 4 years ago.

I would visit a few DAW makers' websites and check the hardware requirements. Some of them should run reasonably well on a PowerPC.
