Can a 644 MIDIstudio play tapes recorded on a 244 Portastudio

Can a 644 Midistudio play tapes originally recorded on a 244 Portastudio?
 
Yes. Same heads, track spacing, etc. Both are 3.75ips machines and utilize dbx Type II noise reduction.
