Yo' Glenn-Tree, every once in awhile when I go out to lunch, I'll run into hima block or so from my officre. If I see him today, I'll give him the headz-up on this thread!

QQ:

Don't sweat it - I'm just pulling his chain a little.

Sweet guitar, though. I'd like to spring for it myself. Imagine - a brace of 815s...:D

funny you should call

Nah, I don't want a Taylor. But I'm in deep trouble. I was going back to the various Martins in the 16 series and it just hasn't been quite right. I was at Manny's Music on 48th St. in NYC. I made the mistake of picking up a Breedlove, a C25. About twice the price of the Martins I was looking at of course. Now I don't know what to do:confused:

That's a nice guitar, but I wouldn't pay more than $1,500 for it.

It would be worth more $$$ if it was Brazilian rosewood instead of Indian.

Despite the small, low-res picture, I can see the spots in the wood near the binding that the seller talks about. That probably sticks out like a sore thumb to the naked eye when you see the guitar in front of you, instead of a picture that's a fraction of the real size of that guitar.

My guess is that he has a $1,600 reserve and the bids won't get higher than $1,300 right near the time bidding expires.

That guitar probably won't sell this time around.

BTW....

THIS IS MY 2,000th POST!!!!!

Woo Hoo!!!! :D:D

WELL LARRY...

You already knew what my answer would be...

Hey, look at it this way. If you're not a member of a credit union, then go join one now, before someone else gets the Breedlove. Or put a $50 deposit on it to hold the thing. Transfer some money into a credit union share draft account and use it for security to get a loan. You'll find a share draft secured loan available for about 2 1/2 % APR. That's right. 2.5%.

Now, what was the problem again?

Buck: Get back to work.

:D :D :D :D :D

(I'm going to have to write faster now, I can tell...)

Hey, brazilian is pretty cool on older guitars! Then, we could talk about mortgage rates. These days, raw sets are running around $1200 - $2000 before you even fill the wormholes... I'll pass.

Tree,

Elderly has some versions of that Breedlove guitar (it's an SC-25 by the way) with various woods -- Sitka Spruce with Myrtlewood back and sides; red cedar top with rosewood back and sides; red cedar with Koa; sitka with Mahogany; cedar with mahogany -- they have these various combinations in their SC-2_ line with electronics that they are calling the "Focus" or "Fusion" model

http://www.elderly.com/brands/breedlove.html

Elderly has all that selection and somewhat better prices (and no fucking NYS/NYC 8.25% sales tax!) but of course I can't play their guitars before I buy them.

What do ya'll think about these wood combos on a Breedlove guitar?

Well; lemme think on that for a bit, although that flamed maple back and sides C25 makes me go weak at the knees.

You did know that I bought my guitar at Elderly, didn't you? Those guys are strictly top shelf in my book.

OHMYGODITSABREEDLOVE!

Yow! Nice work. I'll just stand over here and watch you hit redline...

Seriously, that is one hell of a package!
