all right what is a vood vsti for making that deep hard hiphop bass sound. I am running cubase so vst or direct x is needed. thanks

The suBaSS plugin effect in cubase does nicely. set it to sub octave and u should be good

I am looking more for an instrument or a module that I can trigger from my midi controller. but thanks i will check it out

OK, MaxxBass is a good one. What those plug-ins do is that they generate extra harmonics in the low frequencie ranges. But what you are probably looking for is the presence in the bass. This is done by boosting around 400hz and compressing the fuck out of your bass. Everyone new to this game thinks that boosting below 120hz will help but it only adds muddiness to the bass. You want the bass to cut trought the mix and it is done as I said earlier, by boosting around the 400hz frequencies.

Mixing this technique with the bass boosting plug-ins and a hard compression is the key to a successful bass.

Peace,

Yes I also use max bass from the waves collection..... I also like to run my bass sounds threw a multiband compressor... DBaudio has a pretty good one....

what plugins are they? this topic has opened up my eyes a little. i never thought about compressing bass but adjusting the eq has been the technique that i have used. can anyone go more into detail about the bass plugins. at what compression do any of you usually set your compressors to for the bass? where can i upload my beats for free so i can set up a link and let yall check out what i'm working with? holla back
