I just realized that when I hang a "cloud" over my mixing position, one of its edges will run along a strip of warm halogen track lighting at a distance of about 2 inches. I'm not too worried about the fiberglass since it is, after all, manufactured to insulate heating and a/c equipment. Ah, but there's still the wrapping fabric to worry about, right?

On all the absorbers I've made so far, I've used a cotton broadcloth from Jo-Ann Fabrics called Roe-Ion Dynasty. I can't find any info about it on the Web, but I feel fairly certain that it is NOT fire retardant. So here are my questions, and they're for those of you who have some experience using fire retardant sprays.

Do you spray the fabric before or after wrapping your fiberglass, and if you spray before wrapping, does it change anything about the way you work with the fabric after spraying? Does the fabric become stiff, for instance, or sticky even after the spray has dried? Seems like it would be easier to wrap the panel first and then spray the whole thing, but maybe you're supposed to spray both sides of the fabric? And finally, does anybody have a specific product to recommend -- especially one that comes in it's own spray bottle?
