Hello everyone, Can any1 please tell me what the difference between Cakewalk studio & Acid PRO is? I basically want 2 make good thumpin beats that I can later lace some vocals onto. Im probably going to use a new laptop with about 500 ram and I will also want to connect a keyboard to it. I like the Acid Pro 4.0 features but before I get it I want to know how it rates against cakewalk or cubase software for what I want to do. Also any suggestions on what kind of mic/setup will be appreciated too, Ill probably be recording vocals in an open room since i dont have a booth. Can any1 help?

The main difference is that Acis will record only one audio track at a time. Sonar is also better with MIDI editing. Based on what you say you're lookinig to do, Acid would be a better choice.

Acid is loop based, so it'd probably fit what you're looking for nicely. Cakewalk is probably better for someone looking to record songs from scratch.
