I am using a 400MHZ machine with 256 meg of ram. The sound card that I am using is a LIve Drive card. When I am trying to record I am hearing what I'm recording with about a 1/2 second delay. I have tried everything that I know to do, such as turning off screen savers, and turning off graphic acceleration. What could I be doing wrong and what can I do to fix it?
Thanks, Jim Hall

i have to assume you are referring to sonars live input monitoring.i too had a similiar problem with that when using it once but i didn't try real hard to work it out since my card has its own zero latency mixer and i didn't have the time. i will try to find a solution and get back to you soon. keith p.s.in the mean time can you take a feed from your mixing board?

first off try setting your sound cards buffer size to 256 then open sonar and run the wave profiler under audio options.this will give you some latency settings to start with.i was able to use input monitoring effectively with settings anywhere between 5.8 and 23.2ms. if you can get down in that range you should be ok.good luck, keith p.s. also i set the amount of buffers used to 2.these adjustments can all be made from the same tab that the wave profiler is on in options/audio/general , i believe.on another note you might want to turn your graphics acceleration back up to full.go to the rme hammerfall site if you want toget some solid tips for optimization.www.rme-audio.de/english/techinfo/lola/lola.htm
