Im looking for a warmer studio feel when recording vocals.

How do I get more bass in the vocals when recording. Im playing with mics right now, Marshall Electronics MXL2003, being one of them...

Ive messed with the eqs but cant find anything for the bass...

Please help...

What do you mean by that? You don't hear it or you can't find an EQ with "bass-control"?

If I remember well, Cakewalk 9 (intially) only has a parametric equaliser. Perhaps that's part of the confusion. But you can add bass with a parametric equaliser too!

Also bear in mind that many mics have a proximity effect which will boost bass frequencies - just sing closer to them. Downside is that the pops get loader, and some mics are not so keen on the condensation that will come from your breath!

And remember, mic working conjunction with preamp. So, no matter how great your mic is, it doesn't mean a thing if you hook it to your on board sound card Mic In :D. What's your pre amp ? I use SM58 Beta for my home recording session with bundled preamp on Mackie board. Sounds great. Shuggy is also right, conider the proximity. In case you like plugins, I got Antarez Mic Modeler. Turn your regular mic sound into decent condenser :D...

Well... almost. :)
