I just purchased a new computor and the E-MU 1212m soundcard. I have sound on all other applications except Cakewalk. I have run diagnostics and it says everything should be ok. I have played with settings till I could scream and nothing is working. This computor is very capable of playing/ recording sound so I know I am not using up the computors capacity.

If anyone has any advice or has come accross this problem before, any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated.

Thanks in advance.:)

Those emu cards don't support asio drivers, so make sure you're selecting wdm

It's the other way around. Home Studio 2002 doesn't support ASIO, and E-mu's WDM drivers suck compared to their ASIO.

Remember: PatchMix.

I am using WDM drivers and now have audio sound, but midi doesn't play. Does that have to do with ASIO?

Where are your midi sounds coming from? The 1212 doesn't have a midi synth like the Audigy does, only a midi interface. This has nothing to do with ASIO. Try using a software synth plug-in instead - HS2002 at least has the VSC synth doesn't it?

I'd be tempted to upgrade to either the latest Home Studio or Sonar in order to use the E-mu ASIO drivers.
