Anyone using Cakewalk Homestudio 2002 yet, what were your first impressions and how good are the results of the songs that you have made using this product? What is your DAW setup with this software? How many tracks are you maxing out with?
Just picked up Home Studio 2002 yesterday at the Guitar Center for $69. I love it! Its got the Sonar look and runs pretty nicely on my system (PII-400, 256Mb, dual monitors, MIDIMan USB 2x2, Creative Labs Ensoniq Audio PCI).
It does not have any of the Sonar extras like groove quantization and some other things under the EDIT menu. You only get a trial verson of the Sonar MP3 encoder as well...
All in all, probably just enough for my needs (hobbyist). Maybe if I eventually outgrow this, I'll do the $199 upgrade to Sonar. I think I'd want a better comptuer first tho.
I recently got this product, and I'll be writing up a review soon in one of the future issues of my newsletter (see below).
Best,
Scott
