Although a lot of people claim to have been at the concert when jimi and spock jammed I was actually there.
A lot of debate has gone on about who was the better player but I'd have to give Mr.Spock the edge, this may enrage some jimi fans out there but I think they are taken in because spock did'nt have the stage moves like jimi.
The Enterprise computer was stricken with dropouts and crackling.
You'd always hear Scotty yelling at Kirk"cap'n ah dunt think she kin take any mur tracks!"
It's actually true - apparently there are certain intel chips used in the shuttle and they have run out of them. They were issued in the original 386 puters I gather.
Actually, I can understand that pretty well. Railtrack here in the UK have maintenance contracts for their extensive signalling system that involve maintaining 286 based machines, including the provision of spares. Of course, you cannot buy many of the more critical components from the manufacturers anymore so a nice little growth industry has started buying up and/or refurbishing redundant stocks of old chips, plugs and sockets etc. which are then sold at astronomical prices. Its a funny world
