Hi, i'm new to cakewalk and sonar.

I'm using cakewalk for extra percussion and bass sounds and i'd like to alter the bass sounds using the EQ's but I can't get any noticeable difference.

I highlight the track i want to alter, select an audio effect but nothing happens.

I'm using the latest version of VSC with Win2k. AC97 5.1 sound.

Any help greatly appreciated

So this is a midi bass using the Edirol VSC?

Describe what you are doing. You should have two tracks - one midi with the midi instructions and one audio with the VSC patched into it. The midi track should show the VSC as its Out assignment.

You should be patching the EQ effect onto the audio track that contains the VSC. Is that what you're doing? Should work.

Oh, and also the EQ plugin has to come AFTER the VSC DXi in the patch box (i.e, to the right of it). If it's before it, it won't have any effect.

Yep that's right. I'm using the VSC for bass and drums.

Ok, I don't know how to patch the effect. Can you explain it to me??

Sorry for being a pain.

Ok, i got it now.

I was messing with stuff and i understand it now.

Thanks for your help. It made the whole thing a LOT easier.
