What's the scoop on CAD mics? Don't know anything about 'em. Looked in search but couldn't find anything. Are they junk? How about on acoustic guitar? Any of you own any?

lots of folks own em and seem to likey.
best thing is to demo them and see if for you.
for cheap try cad gxl series.
its all personal preference.
peace.

CAD makes some decent mics. I've used a M179 of acoustic guitar - sounds good and is a multi-pattern microphone. Also own an M177 (single pattern version of the same mic). If you do a search in the forum here for M179, you should find some good info on that CAD mic. I've seen some favorable press on it in here, and that's the reason for purchase.

Take a browse in the mic forum.....plenty of good reading in there on what would work for ya.

KBM 412 is baddassed

the CAD KBM412 is a totally underrated kick and bass mic. IMO it sounds very close to the Sennheiser e602....a good thing :D

I've had a CAD VX2 for about a year. It's one of CAD's tube mics, and it's nice. Actually, very nice.

I have a CAD E-300 that I've had for about 4 years. Excellent mic, and the only multi-pattern mic in my collection.
