I've been comparing the M177 and M179 (in cardioid) for a while now (the same) and it was just a nice opportunity to get another multipattern pair and be able to sell my M177 mics to a friend at a good (for him) price.
As far as I can tell, Zzounds and AMS are either the same entity or they completely share their inventory. Anybody know?
The M179 mics arrived. After they acclimate (UPS left the carton on the porch), I'll open one up to see if it came with the shockmounts (it does appear that they came with those oversize, molded cases).

I had a feeling something like this was on the way because this mic has been $99 until yesterday, when they change the price to $169.99. Miraculously today is on "sale". Now we know what their stupid "deals" are all about. Good buy, tho.

I already have 3 CAD GXL3000's and 2 Naiant X-M's. Would I hear a substantial difference over my other condensers to warrant buying an M177?
