Does CAD make a good product? Haven't seen any comments about them on the forum.

Secondly, is the M177 a decent choice for either vocals and/or miking a guitar amp?

Some good, some okay. For the most part, they are a very underrated company that churns out product that is an outstanding value for the money.

For the money, it's an excellent choice. I've rarely heard a track that it sounded poor on.

CAD M-177 and suspension mount

Thanks ChessRock. Think I read somwhere that these guys are actually manufacturing their entire product line here in the states, but dunno if it's true or not.

When it arrives, I'll test it against my Shure SM57 (the only other mike I've got) and post the results.

For the record, although I didn't see it advertized, after a tech support request for info via email, I was able to get a suspension mount. Model MZM-5 for the M-177 direct from Omnitronics (440-593-1111) was $29.95 plus $7.00 shipping.
