cabling question?*

this may be a stupid quest....i don't know. but anyways, i'm connecting an art mp tube to a terratec phase22 (the art will pretty much be used as a guitar/bass direct box). the thing is, musicians friend was running a special on the silver series mogami instrument cables, so i ordered some. is it alright if i run this from my pre into my audio card?...or should i have gotten the mogami 'patch' cables (which were waaaay more expensive). just curious as to if there is a diff from what is labeled as 'instrument' and 'patch'. they both appear to have have the same connects, and it is just an art mp after all right?

Instrument cables are usually longer and shielded. Patch cables are usually shorter and also shielded. Either will usually work fine, however using shorter cables is usually the better approach.
