Hey guys, I'm finally looking to step my studio up a few notches, and understand good cables are necesarry. What are the "industry" standard or best cables(I am looking to get 1/4, RCA,XLR,MIDI, and S/PDIF and other digital cables)?Monster  .Also since these cables are so expenisve, I am wondering how these can get damaged?I won't be eating or drinking (if I will itll be a bottle like the gatorade with the nozzle so very little can spill) so spilling nothing on the cables wont be of concern to me.I will have a little cover on them also(forget what its called). And I will never let them get kinked up or anything.Oh and BTW the cables im looking to buy can be atleast 7.5-10 feet long since the DAW wont be far from the cables ;)

P.S. what are those boxes, where they filter out the hum and stuff, their like 250$ and will get rid of tee noise from various places around your house?(refrigerators, hair dryers, all kinds of electrical appliances)

I use Switchcraft cables. Good Stuff!!!
After frying many electrical devices with spilt beers (Most notably a JCM-800, and a Lexicon Reverb, I have learned to keep my drinks on the floor :)
You are thinking of a Power conditioner. At the very least you should try and utilize dedicated Branch Circuits (No appliances, at least).
