Any tutorial on differences\applications\markings of Cables? ie balanced\unbalanced and instrument.
I play guitar with small amps and also input into Maudio audio interface.

I often read specs about balanced and unbalanced lines and am not sure of what applications they are for? Also get confused with all the cables at Guitar Center.

No science degree required.

99% of electric guitars use 2-wire unbalanced instrument cables. Amp to speaker uses 2-wire unbalanced speaker cables (heavier ground - or negative- wire than instrument cable). The plugs on these are typically TR style (Tip Ring).
Balanced cables are used with input or output jacks that are balanced - they have positive, negative and ground wires. These are typically XLR or TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve) connectors. Microphone, pre-amp to amp - any non-amplified signal could be a balanced one.
