Does anyone know where I can get a 1/4" cable splitter / y-connector that splits in stereo?

I'm still using my generic audio board, and no mixer (budget constraints :( ) and it only has the single "line in."

Here's the set-up I'd like to get. Guitar into Tubeworks effects pedal. Then split the output, one into my marshall and one into my soundcard. The big issue that I'm having is the output signal.

The signal only comes out in a mono/left or right. Going into my amp doesn't matter as it only has one speaker, but my soundcard only records one channel. either left or right dpending.

Anyone ever tried something like this, or am I just outta my mind. Does this post make any sense?

are you talking about a cable thats 1 female TRS(mono) into 2 male TS(stereo)? im looking for one of those right now and their hard to find. if your looking for 1 male TRS to 2 female TS then you can probabaly get it at a radio shack. like a headphone splitter

You probably want an active splitter box, like the Morley AB-Y box. Simply splitting a signal with a Y connector can cause all sorts of problems if the input resistances of your amp and soundcard are not matched (which they won't be).

A couple of observations. First, you want to come out of a stomp box which is instrument level (very low) and instrument impedence (EXTREMELY high) into a consumer card (-10 high impedence). You're mismatched right there. The stereo thing you complain about really isn't even a problem. You'd want this send to be mono anyway. You can take care of that situation in your recording software by telling it that soundcard input LEFT (or whatever) goes to suchandsucha track as a mono track. On playback it would be mono and pan-able to left, right or center. What you need is a Direct Box to send to the sound card.

Yeah, I'm trying to find 1 male to 2 female. i have found one, but it's not stereo? My stomp box has a variable line out, so I do keep the output down abit when going into the computer. I live in an apartment complex and can't turn my volumnes up very loud, so what I do is adjust the line out of my stomp to get a good signal to record, then turn my amp up ever so slightly to monitor. I also have the computer output signal going to a home stereo which I can use a set of earphones with to monitor myself. The issue is that if I use the headphones, there seems to be a delay of sound. I live in Europe and purchasing hardware is a friggin pain, seems like everything costs an arm and a leg over here. (this is the budget issue.) Others have suggested that I order through the 'net, which is cool, as I only pay shipping to New York, bad thing is most stuff would only be 110V requiring a transformer from 220V. I do have a Crate PX-600DP, amp/mixer combo with all sorts of lines but using the transformer I do pick up signal hum? Seems like I'm pretty screwed until I can cough up some cash. I do intend on getting a small mixing board, though. Any suggestions on a small, reasonable priced mixer. It's just me and a guitar, both electric and acoustic. I do have a sure57 that i received the last time I was in the states. Or any other suggestions for the short term????

Thanks folks!
