Cabel selection for inputs 5-6 on tascam 424ii

I am looking to get an ART Pro VLA II for my tascam 424ii set up. I would like to use input 5-6 to bypass the tascam pres. Should I use a balanced cable going into that input? Is it a balanced input just because it's a stereo input? Since my ART MP pre and the condenser have balanced ins and outs, I'd like to stick with that. Any help would be great!

I'd be willing to bet they're unbalanced. Most likely running standard guitar cables will work fine. The only reason you'd need to use a special cable is if there's hum. Use the -10 setting on the ART.
