C5 w/ Mackie HUI touch fader issue

Have not been using automation alot since i haven't done any projects that are tracking / mixing heavy so far.
I have come across this issue not sure where the answer lies
When tracking if I touch the fader it turns off the track from recording alternately turns it on if I touch again etc etc.

is this an automation setting or elseware that I can disable ?
 
I use an older control but that sounds very odd to me. Now I can only guess at this so take it for what it is.

My guess is you have "arm track on select" checked off under preferences and when you touch a fader it selects the track you just touched. Now that action is normal and desirable, but the arm on select thing is just dumb and I would disable it.
 
Thanks, that's a option i thought might exist !
