Hi guys can anyone give me some info on the tollerance of C1 C2 and any other
errors or tests that might affect duplication.

I just burnt a cd and tested it with nero.
no C1 errors but quite a few C2. Will this mean a rejection at the plant.

Cheers

This might help a bit...

http://www.massivemastering.com/html/disc_errors.html

You're allowed a certain amount of C1 errors - Quite a bunch - and NO C2 or CU errors - Zip, zero, nada.

A "clean" disc might have an average C1 count of 1 or 2 per second and a peak of maybe 25-50 per second. Which is actually WELL within limits.

I think it is impossible to have no C1 errors...that sounds fishy.

Redbook allows up to 220 C1/sec (averaged over 10 seconds). C2's are allowed, only E32's (3 continuous C2 decoder errors) are rejected.

Just wanted to straighten that out.

That being said, we ship no masters with a C1 BLER over 22 and none with C2s or CUs...

And it is impossible to have zero C1 errors.
