Recording Idiot
Hey Folks, back with another question (maybe one day I can answer one for some body :-D)

I'm using a C-Port and Sonar 2 to run the sound into my computer. I have 8 tracks I can record at a time. In Sonar I have the following options for input...

(I'm paraphrasing)
Audio In 1/2
Audio In 3/4
Audio In 5/6
Audio In 7/8

The problem is that I get the same signal (recorded input) for track 1 and 2 instead of getting getting two separate singals. For example... I'm running the drum kick into input 1 and the snare into input 2... however, on track 1 and 2 (in Sonar) I'm getting the bass on both tracks and not bass on 1 and snare on 2, get me? Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Those inputs (1/2, 3/4, etc.) are stereo inputs. If you want to record the drums on different track then you would need to plug one mic into input 1/2 and one mic into input 3/4. Or, for example, you could decide that you want a delay effect on your kick and run a mic from your kick into a delay processor and have stereo output coming out of the delay unit into inputs 1 and 2.
Hope hat makes sense/helps

Ok... so input 1 and 2 on the C-Port are like the Right and Left Stero in's?

So.. therefore in my mixer's channel 1 I can pan it hard right, run it to C-Port's 1 and get say the kick... and on channel 2 on my mixer I can pan it hard left, run it to C-Port's 2 and get the snare... so I have 2 different tracks? Would this work?
