buzzing sound from Master & no effects

Let´s see now. I have installed the terratec multichannel card, EWS88 MT. I am monitoring, until my mixer arrives, from outputs 1 and 2 on the breakout box. I play previous recordings, assigning channels to a buss. Effects don´t sound unless I use them as inserts on the channels, forcing me to adjust the dry/wetness from each individual effect panal. I want to continue using the master effects, but, the master does not sound or it makes a loud pulsing buzzing noise...forget about hearing the effects! Sounds like a routing problem. I see on the terratec control panal (mixer) a steady illuminated level on the masters assigned channel that I can´t control unless I am in post mode (if I remember correctly). Any ideas out there??
 
I figured out that it has to do with Native Instruments Parametric EQ, in the master effects. I used it a lot on my previous recordings, but, if I edit the effect, flatten it all the way, the BUZZ disappears. Any ideas as to why it does that?
