FALKEN said:any board that old, tascam or soundtracs (i've only heard good things about both) needs to be checked out before you drop a g, if possible. old boards can get some strange crackly noises (bad), and all of the functions might not work properly (annoying, but not as bad as noise). i don't know the cause, it could be caps...are you handy enough to do a recap job??

I didn't do this on the last board I rented and got totally hosed during a live & recording (ADAT) gig, I had to transplant on the fly! Check that baby out before you buy! I don't know anything about that Soundtracs but I remember oogling it when it first came out, looks nice though.

If you cant meet him then think of someway wher you can pay after you know its allw working. might not be worth taking the risk..
