buying a computer and soundcard but dont know what to go with

i plan on getting a new computer bc the one i currently have is the family computer. Im not sure as wether to buy a mac or a pc and what soundcard ive got about $1200 that i can spend for the computer and soundcard.
 
go pc
look at m-audio.

For your budget I suggest ebay, or really shopping parts and building it yourself.
