I've been looking into buying The Guitar Tracks Pro program from Cakewalk and I would just like a little more info before I even think about buying it.

Is the program user friendly?

Does it come with a sound card?

Does it come with mic inputs or do I have to buy them seperately?

Is the sound quality any good?

Does it save music in mp3 format?

Will it sound any better than what this does? (please go to http://www.geocities.com/misanthropy26 and visit the releases page to hear what I'm talking about.)

Thank you for looking this over and for giving me feedback.

In answer to your overall question, I would advise doing some more research first. Like, what is your computer system? Will you ever use Midi files? How many inputs would you like to record at once etc. You might also like to consider Home Studio 2002 from Cakewalk. It does audio and Midi.

And in answer to your specifics, in the order you wrote them:

Is the program user friendly?

A.Depends on your viewpoint. I found it okay.

Q.Does it come with a sound card?
A.No, you have to go buy one or use your current card.

Q.Does it come with mic inputs or do I have to buy them seperately?
A. Seperately and depends on your soundcard.

Q.Is the sound quality any good?
A. Depends on your guitar, guitar playing, amplifier, cables, mic, pre-amp, soundcard and speakers. The software itself is fine.

Does it save music in mp3 format?
A. No, it exports a wav file which you can then convert to MP3 using a freeware program.

Hope the above helps,

Paul
