dunno 'bout the capability's of the vs880, but if you don't want to buy the cd-r (you should, also to make back-ups!!!) you might try digital-out to pc-soundcard.
then you burn your cd on the pc.
since burning audio from the vs to the cd-r takes a lot of time ('cause of the image-file), this is also the 'fast' route.
it also means that you can modify your 2-track master. try normalizing!
i do it all the time with my vs1680.
but in this case you need to get the 2-track to the pc, preferably digital!

As Barewire pointed out you can use Digital out to your computer. An audiophile card would be cheaper than the Roland Burner. You can use the spdif (Rca type on the original 880)and take the 2 track stereo into cakewalk,Soundforge etc. You can also Sync the 880 to cakewalk and transfer a track at a time using Spdif. Then you would have more tracks without bouncing on the 880 if you wanted to seperate the tracks.
The only thing I do not like about the original 880, is that you can only plug in 4 inputs at a time.
You cant use the 1/4" and the Rca at the same time on the same channel..

If you have any intent of archiving your song data, you will need one of the recommended Roland CD-RWs available, and ensure that you have the appropriate OS in the VS. A standalone, or computer burner will not suffice for that. I believe the current CD-RWs are made by Plextor. Mine is made by QPS (CD-RW II). I believe the original 880 can use the QPS burners without OS updates, but if you go with a Plextor (I am unsure as to the model #s) you will need the OS update.
