Yeah, im here at last - another newbie to the forums lol...
well anyway i aint a newbie on cubase SX im kinda intermediate so hopefully i can help some people out here...

Anyway the main reason im here is i need some help/advice
OK heres my story, Ive recorded my music/songs on cubase SX - ive exported them as .wma files which is great coz i then added them to a website and its got me noticed (which is good all round) anyway im making a EP (all home recorded) 4 songs so i can showcase myself problem is my stuff sounds fine on the computer but when i burnt to a CD through media player i ran downstairs put my CD on and YES my music was there - but the volume level of the music was real low - i had to turn the volume way past extreme to hear it at a good level.. seems crazy to me? any ideas on whats happening or any tips?

on another note i took someones advice by going back into cubase SX and i gained all my tracks and burnt back to CD but this only brings the volume level up a little bit and i suffer certain clicks and distortion with the audio, just wondering also if it could be the quality of the CD - i mean there cheap audio cd's - Could this affect the CD volume alot?

Please any help - ideas or tips are much apreciated .. ive got a good company waiting on this CD being sent to them' and im kinda stressed about the whole thing' - many regards

Pick up T-Racks if you are a beginner to Master it, or Wavelab...Rules too! :D

Thanx NYMorningstar and Lorde
T-Racks roxxx what a great programme.. thankyou so much Lorde for pointing me in the right direction,
just to clarify i aint a newb, all my previous recordings were great as i mastered them in a 64 track recording studio but since those days ive moved way to far away from that place to try get anymore freebies.. so instead im looking to master my tracks at home using the best programmes for the job - but because i aint used to mastering at home i wasnt sure which programmes were upto the job

thanx again Lorde, T-Racks has boosted my levels without the distortion i was first encountering and im overcome with how effective the programme is..
'i owe you one'

try exporting as a wav file instead see if that makes a difference

Agreed. .WMA is by default a compressed, lossy audio format even at the highest resolutions. The volume aspect is kind of strange, but to defeat all sources for problems you should export as .WAV as per red book audio cd standard. Good luck
