When I burn a CD, Using SonicRecordnow!, sometimes the disk will not play in certain CD players. What could be a cause? The CD? My Burner? My computer is only a year old, and i never had problems ike this.

Oh, Im using Imation CD's, you know the stack of 100 for like 30$?

Help!

Are they CD-Rs or CD-RWs? I've never had a problem with Imation CD-Rs, though I use Nero, but that shouldn't really matter.

Look in the documentation to see it it's burning to RedBook specifications. Some of the specs to look for -

* Two second pause before the first track marker

* DAO (Disk At Once) mode ONLY

Without at least these two specs, (and of course, 16-bit/44.1kHz PCM data) you're going to have problems.

And of course, it could be the burner. Without error (BLER - C1, C2, E1, etc.) checking tools, I couldn't tell you much about that.

I use Imation discs for data backup on occasion. Their error rates are usually substantially higher than Tayio Yuden's, but still well within standards on a good drive.

Just for the record, you're not burning at some insane speed, are you? In *most* tests, the BLER rates can get pretty high after 4 or 8X.

okay, they are imation CD-R's, I was burning "track at once", and the recording speed was higher than 24x. WTF?

You say 8x is the highest I should go?

The tracks are in MP3, not wav (PCM right?), but do you think that the speed was the main problem? thanks guys

I would assume that the MP3's are being changed on the fly to PCM data - But yeah, try 8X and DAO mode.

ALWAYS DAO mode, no matter what speed.
