Burning CDs from audio cassettes? on a Mac?

Can someone explain how I might go about transferring cassette tapes into CDs? I'd like to someone record them into my Macintosh by ripping them somehow, then burning a CD after I convert them into MP3s. I have an audio input jack on my Mac, I just don't know how to go about doing it. Has anyone been down this road before?

I actually have the same need but using a Dell Latitude Laptop (non-Mac). I have a soundcard, external CD burner, cassette deck and cables.
