Hello Gents!
I'm in the process of trying to cover a few 2x4 OC 703. 2" thick panels with some burlap cloth. But, I'm not using any wood frame, I just need to make some 2x4 panels covered with burlap.

Unfortunately, I cant figure out the best way to attach the burlap cloth to the fiberglass, especially since there is no wood frame? Glue doesn't seem to practical, and I'm not sure if staples would attach to the fiberglass? So, if anyone has any ideas, would love to hear!
Thanks so much :o

staples wouldnt attach, only thing i can think of is doing frames or sew or stitc hthe cloth together.

I used Velcro, bought at Home Depot. Comes in a 15ft roll with a sticky back. It definitely works, I've cut and wrapped one panel in about 10-15 min!
They haven't fallen apart for 3 weeks, and they don't look like they plan on it either.

I made frames that laid flat on the back of the fiber glass. I stretched the burlap around and stapled it to the wooden frame. The frames don't have to be too sturdy because once everything is stapled it is stronger.

For my clouds, which I didn't frame, I used fabric glue.

However, the velcro seems like a pretty good idea as well.

The velcro is a good idea. I've used hot glue on burlap and canvas with good results. I would imagine silicone would work as well.

The stuff known as "Liquid Nail" will stick to almost anything with a porious surface, bonds burlap to rigid fiberglass extremly well. Just run a bead along where the edge of the burlap will come to, press the cloth onto it (roll an old paint roller over it works great) let it set a couple of hours and be sure, it's a lot harder to get off than it was to put on.

Spray contact adhesive will work nicely on fabrics...like 3M #77.

Just follow the directions (spray both sides and allow some of the solvent to flash off before mating the sides).

Don't clog up the fabric with adhesives or your panels won't work properly.

Wow, very cool! Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Lotsa options! :p

The key thing among the solutions that work are that you are attaching the fabric to the fabric and not to the fiberglass. The fiberglass (and even worse rock wool) that pretty much any glue for the fabric to the fiberglass will not work because the upper layer of the fiberglass will just pull off.
