bun file mangled... sonar

the first song that i was attempting to record in sonar got mangled when i converted it from a .wrk to a .bun file. the audio tracks (bass, guitar, guitar ghost) play back with crackles and pops, but the vertical time guide never moves and the midi doesn't play.

when i open up a previously recorded .bun or .wrk file from cake9 everything runs fine.
 
update...

i saved the .bun file as a .mid using midi1 format. then i saved the .mid as a .wrk again after i took a look at it. then i grabbed the audio tracks from the .bun and put them in the new .wrk and everything is ok. i don't know what happened but i hope it never happens again.
