build 'puter, want specs

So I'm thinking of building my own computer for recording. Building is loose term, putting together is really what is is :p Anyways, I'm pretty sure it should not be a big deal for me but I'm wondering what specific motherboard, chipset,processor( it will be dual core) you guys think are the most reliable/compatable. I'l be using Sonar 5 Producer with Motu2408MK3 and 2 UAD cards. It seems some like the AMD processor better than intel but maybe I'm off.

Gigabyte Quad (I can't remember exactly what's it's called) GA-965 I think
Corsair XMS2 DDR800
600w power supply
Geforce 7900GT video card
A good cpu fan.

You should be great then.
