I'm looking at the cheapest Kick mics I can find for now.

Does anybody know anything about the Samson Q Kick? I know many people will just sneer at it automatically because of it's branding but anyone got anything constructive? From other reviews it seems surprisingly good...

Also, there's some Shure PG52's on eBay for very similar prices to the Samson, which is vast reduced from the RRP - are these likely to be fakes or good?

Probably real---why fake a low-end mic? Re the Sampson mics, a word of caution on cheap mic reviews: most of the reviewers have simply never used anything better....

My advice? Used D112. They go for as little as $180 new, so you should be able to find a used one for $120-ish, I'd think.

I've never used one so maybe you can do a search but American Musical Supply has the Blue Kickball mic on sale for $49. It is a dynamic kick mic but I think it does need phantom power. Maybe someone who's used one can help you out but $49 seems like a deal to me.
